Meet Nancy

Nancy is a trained and certified Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner. She is the Founding Director at Reiki Center of the Western Reserve.  She facilitates opportunities for Reiki practitioners at all levels to nurture themselves, support one another, and deepen in their relationship with Reiki.  These include:

• Weekly Guided Reiki Self-Practice

• Monthly Virtual Reiki Share

• Monthly In-Person Reiki Share

She teaches Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Trainings at Levels 1, 2, and Master Level.

Nancy teaches programs and meditations on additional topics including Shamanism, working with Nature’s Energies, and more.  She also offers private Reiki sessions.

Nancy has served on the Shadybrook Board of Trustees since 2010 and is currently serving in the role of Board Chair, offering grounded leadership guided by decades of experience and inner practice.

Nancy’s Journey

In her first career, Nancy spent 35 years as an educator in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade—bringing heart, wisdom, and exploration into every classroom. Alongside reading and math, her students were guided in visualizations, sending their roots down into the Earth to get grounded after recess.  They learned Eden Energy Medicine techniques to help them focus when they were feeling antsy.  They even experienced the quiet magic of crystals in the classroom. Nancy’s approach to teaching was always about more than curriculum—it was about helping young souls feel safe, centered, and whole, and empowering them to live a balanced life.

She soon took this passion out of the primary school classroom and into the realm of adult education.

Her Reiki journey began with Sr. Ann Winters, OSU, at the Ursuline Reiki Center, and continued with Judy McCracken through Reiki Rays of Hope for Caregivers—a program that empowers caregivers with Reiki relaxation techniques to comfort themselves and others.

She has embraced Reiki through years of training across lineages. Nancy is certified as:

• Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master

• Karuna® Reiki Master

• Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master Teacher

• Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master Teacher

• Jikiden Reiki Practitioner (Shoden and Okuden levels)

She has trained extensively with William Rand on the sacred island of Maui, as well as with Carolyn Musial, Laurelle Gaia, and Michael Baird—licensed teachers of the International Center for Reiki Training. Nancy is a professional member of the Reiki Membership Association.

She later traveled to Japan to study Jikiden Reiki—meaning “authentic”—a tradition that honors the original Japanese teachings of Usui Reiki before Western adaptation. Her Jikiden training was with Frank Arjava Petter and Mari Hall.

The teachings of Bronwen and Frans Steine of the International House of Reiki along with Pamela Miles have also inspired Nancy on her Reiki path. However, her greatest teacher of all has been Reiki!

Nancy was the director of the Reiki Clinic at Ursuline Academy from 2009 until its closing in 2018.

Nancy continues to attend to her own personal growth with studies that assist her with teaching others how to establish and maintain a personal state of well-being and how to bring about positive change for the planet.
