Our leadership team brings together diverse backgrounds and broad-reaching experience within the fields of education, information technology, health, human behavior, spirituality, the arts, and corporate and entrepreneurial business. Their unique knowledge and expertise help drive our initiatives forward.
Jennifer Jurcisek – Director of Programs & Operations
Jennifer Jurcisek, CPA, has an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting from John Carroll University. She has extensive volunteer experience in various not-for-profit organizations. Jennifer has participated and conducted numerous leadership training workshops. For over 15 years she has developed, implemented and evaluated various programs, events and fundraisers. Her background also includes in depth business and accounting experience in various industries and currently consultants.
Michelle Hudson – Administrative Coordinator
Michelle Hudson has over twenty years of experience within the non profit sector. She is also employed by the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library as their Communications and Development Associate.
On behalf of Shadybrook, Michelle serves as our Administrative Coordinator. She handles our annual campaign, plans special events for our members, and assists in organizing our fundraising events.
Board of Trustees
Gary Rosenthal – Chair
Gary has practiced law in Lake County since 1975. His areas of concentration are estate planning, wills, trusts, and real estate. Gary served several years on the Lake County Senior Levy Coalition and on the Board of the Mentor Public Library System. Gary’s legal knowledge has been an especially helpful aspect of his Shadybrook board service.
Tammy Loukas – Vice Chair, acting Secretary
Tammy Loukas has a degree in software engineering and is currently employed by Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, where she is a Computer Systems Analyst. Tammy has a working home studio, known as Brightfire Studios, where she creates pottery and ceramics, as well as chainmaille, and knit/crochet projects. She is also a Certified Zentangle Teacher and offers Zentangle workshops and individual lessons in this meditative drawing artform. She is currently serving her local community in the Old Brooklyn Buzz, which creates opportunities for local businesses and residents to interact. Tammy is also a long-time practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan and various Qi Gong forms, meditation and visualization techniques, and esoteric practices ranging from Norse Runes to ecstatic dancing, drumming and chanting.
Laura Christian Imbornoni, acting Treasurer
Laura Christian Imbornoni, M.Ed., RYT-500, is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a professional level yoga instructor and is an Integrative Yoga Therapist. She is also an In-Motion Movement Therapy graduate. Laura is certified to lead Spirit-in-MotionTM and as a Holistic Health Educator by the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Certified as a hypnotist, she is completing an internship with the Wellness Institute in Heart Centered Hypnotherapy. After 32 years managing Mentor’s Senior Center, Laura now teaches several yoga classes at Heights Wellness Center for Women.
Nancy Herrick is proud to acknowledge her service as an educator for thirty-five years. In September of 2009, Nancy assisted with the reopening of the Reiki Clinic at Ursuline Academy and is its present director. Nancy lives in Russell, Ohio with her soul-mate Kenny Frieder, their dog, Barkus, and cat, Bailey. She enjoys reading, learning, daily walks, and communing with nature. Nancy has served as Shadybrook’s board secretary.
Steve Imbornoni, PhD, is a licensed as a psychologist, a supervising clinical counselor, and a massage therapist. He is a spiritualist minister ordained by Fellowships of the Spirit. Dr. Imbornoni maintains an integrative private practice in Beachwood, Ohio. He has served as Shadybrook’s Treasurer, in the past, for a number of years.
Donna M. Mazzola
Donna M. Mazzola is a passionate advocate for the power of dreams and their ability to transform our waking experience. She is certified by the Marin Institute of Projective Dream Work (MIPD) and is a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD). As a consultant, she travels throughout Ohio and beyond, helping start groups that ultimately operate independently. Donna includes many pathways that help dreamers gain access to the power of the dream image. Those include journaling, SoulCollage®, dance, art, movement, and storytelling. Her degrees include Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University and Master of Arts in Wisdom Studies from Wisdom University in Oakland, California.
Shirley A. Nelson
Shirley A. Nelson has served in administrative and management positions for profit and not-for-profit organizations throughout her lifetime. As Vice President for Operations of the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries and Program Coordinator of the Faith-Based Leadership Institute, she worked with a wide spectrum of religious organizations of varying faiths. She is certified as a Diakonal Minister through the Faith-Based Leadership Institute and the Center for Faith-Based Leadership and is certified as a life skills coach and workshop facilitator by the Empowerment Institute. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Capitol University and has written several books. Shirley also writes for several online publications and is the founder of San’s Sacred Circle.
Dean Williams is an ordained priest and teacher in the Soto Zen Buddhist lineage. He is also a certified Buddhist chaplain. He is a volunteer with Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic and a founding member of the Cleveland chapter of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. Dean speaks at various churches throughout northeastern Ohio and, as a member of InterAct Cleveland, has participated in a number of interfaith services. He has served as Assistant Treasurer for InterAct Cleveland, and as a board member for both Project LEARN and for Udumbora Zen Center. Dean serves as Regional V P for the Meadowbrook Insurance Group.
Joyce Wolpert holds three degrees from Case Western Reserve University. She is a lifelong Clevelander, and has taught area students in a variety of grade levels, from public school through graduate school. Along with Samual A. Wolpert, Joyce co-authored Economics of Information (Van Nostrand Reinhold.) She was a researcher/writer for Roger Ailes, Fox News founder, chair, and CEO. Joyce was also the author of several trust funds connected with the Cleveland Foundation. She is a mother, poet, artist, vegetarian, and long-time member of Shadybrook.
