An Afternoon of Jazz with the Butterfly Quartet



Shadybrook, Inc and the Crooked River Zen Center proudly presents an afternoon of jazz with the Butterfly Quartet featuring:

Howie Smith and Brad Wagner on the saxophone,

Carmen Castaldi on the drums and

Aidan Plank on bass.

About the musicians:

Howie Smith:  Alto sax; Howie is the former director of jazz studies at Cleveland State and has performed with both the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Chamber Symphony.  He is a 7 time recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Artist Fellowship.

Carmen Castaldi:  Drums; Carmen has played with a number of jazz luminaries including Joe Lovano, Sonny Stitt, Monk Montgomery, and Kenny Werner.

Brad Wagner:  Tenor sax; Brad is a member of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and a leader of the local group Moustache Yourself.

Aidan Plank:  Bass; Aidan has played with many of the leading local jazz musicians including Carmen Castaldi, Bobby Selvaggio, and former Clevelander Joe Lovano.
